Carbon sequestration by application of organic materials and biochar in soil is an important strategy to increase carbon (SOC), but the stability SOC, particularly humic substances (HS) vary with types material. In this study, cotton straw its derived compost were added equivalent content incubated for 180 days. The structural characteristics acid (HA), fulvic (FA) humin (Hu) investigated using solid-state 13C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. results showed that treatment increased aryl C HA, FA, Hu 1.38%, 1.68%, 10.46% compared 1.46%, 1.99% 2.01% treatment. O-alkyl HA was 10.59% 10.65% high biochar/straw biochar/compost ratios respectively, while it 9.81% 9.61% low ratios. addition, FA 62.83% 58.48% biochar/compost, 55.85% 55.94% biochar/compost. These suggest advantageous formation due content, whereas or alkyl HA. can be improved soils incorporating combination compost.
