Background & Aims: There is a growing focus on the role of dietary factors and metabolic conditions in evolution progression iron deficiency (ID), yet few studies have examined underlying mechanisms. Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII) metric that gauges inflammatory potential an overall diet. This study explores association between DII triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI) with ID reproductive-age women. Methods: analysis utilized data from 2311 women National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2005 to 2018. was identified using serum ferritin transferrin receptor (TfR). The DII, TyG-BMI assessed weighted logistic regression, linear regression restricted cubic spline (RCS) models, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve for diagnostic power. Mediation effects were further explored by causal mediation analysis. Results: Among women, both significantly positively associated (DII: OR = 1.32, 95% CI 1.19, 1.48; TyG-BMI: 1.13, 1.02, 1.35). close relationship TfR (β= 1.17, 1.03, 1.13). RCS indicated relationships mostly (P-overall < 0.05, P-nonlinear > 0.05). Furthermore, mediated 5.19%, 12.83%, 5.63% associations ID, Ferritin, (TfR), respectively. Conclusion: findings suggest targeted interventions enhance practices, nutritional intake, well-being may result substantial amelioration among reproductive Keywords: deficiency, index, insulin resistance

Prostate cancer (PCa) is one of the most common malignancies in men worldwide. Despite advances treatment, many patients develop resistance to conventional therapies. Solute carrier (SLC) proteins, as transmembrane transporters, have recently emerged potential therapeutic targets due their role tumor metabolism and progression. This review summarizes key roles six SLC proteins PCa, including involvement metabolic reprogramming, regulation signaling pathways, effects on microenvironment. Although targeting family members prostate remains an underexplored area, growing body evidence suggests that it holds for future development.

Iron plays a vital role in insulin signaling, regulating molecular mechanisms that influence cellular responses. This review explores the link between iron metabolism and resistance (IR) children adolescents with obesity. A connection metabolism, deficiency (ID), IR is well-documented, but further longitudinal studies are needed to better understand how influences during childhood adolescence. warrants attention due its significant public health implications, as optimizing obesity management could help prevent both ID metabolic complications children. Current evidence does not suggest dietary factors primary contributors However, there scientific weight reduction can restore homeostasis people Therefore, efforts should focus on improving habits, increasing awareness of iron's importance, implementing strategies address

Yam is a versatile economic crop that serves both medicinal and dietary purposes. Dehua County, located in Fujian Province, China, renowned as one of the major yam production areas, with cultivation history spanning over 600 years. It has successfully cultivated Qingfeng Ziyu yam, which have been recognized China's "Geographical Indications for Agricultural Products." However, no comprehensive studies conducted to evaluate their quality. This study meticulously utilized authentic material "Iron yam" benchmark, employing advanced techniques such high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ultraviolet spectrophotometry, flame atomic absorption spectrometry systematically analyze nutritional hypoglycemic active components three distinct varieties. In order interpret data, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, principal component analysis (PCA), partial least squares discriminant (PLS-DA), cluster multiple linear regression were applied. The results revealed significant variations concentrations various indicators across types. Correlation identified 65 pairs exceptionally strong correlations 39 statistically associations. Additionally, demonstrated Iron exhibited most favorable overall Notably, characterized by its high concentration compounds, emerged promising raw products, showcasing potential this field.

This study analyzed the relationship between obesity, metabolic syndrome (MetS) and its individual components, iron metabolism, hepatic alterations in a pediatric group of patients. We mostly concentrated on role serum ferritin as marker inflammation. conducted retrospective study, which we determined presence MetS ultrasound changes cohort 68 patients examined levels. prevalence was significantly higher obese children (64%) compared to those with average weight (11.1%). Abdominal circumference, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol were most relevant criteria. Serum levels lower, while increased proportionally number components. Liver findings confirmed strong association steatosis MetS, advanced ultrasonographic scores correlating deficiency. These results reinforce interplay metabolism inflammation MetS. Given this study’s unicentric design limited ethnic diversity, further large-scale, longitudinal studies are needed confirm these improve early screening strategies for complications.
