Abstract
This
research
examines
the
convergence
of
digitalisation
and
managerial
capabilities
in
shaping
effective
crisis
response
strategies,
with
a
particular
focus
on
understanding
factors
that
contribute
to
managers’
digital
reluctance.
In
two-wave
study
conducted
during
COVID-19
pandemic
(2020–2022)
through
Dynamic
Managerial
Capability
(DMC)
lens,
we
incorporate
qualitative
data
from
managers
four
coworking
spaces
into
theoretical
model
assesses
as
determinant
DMC
management.
Our
findings
show
sensing,
seizing,
reconfiguration
effectively
coordinate
survival
process.
Additionally,
introduce
concept
‘digital
reluctance’
constraint
context
digitalisation.

This
article
investigates
patterns
in
SMEs’
digital
transformation
journey
during
the
COVID-19
pandemic
and
whether
lessons
learnt
from
this
crisis
have
influenced
their
future
objectives.
Following
a
multiple
case
study
design,
semi-structured
interviews
were
conducted
with
SME
owners/managers
Slovenia
Hungary.

analysis

majority
of
participating
SMEs
not
digitally
ready
but
still
managed
to
overcome
various
challenges
by
adopting

intensifying
