Abstract The escalating demand for data in wireless communication systems has posed significant challenges recent years. This trend is predicted to continue, with explosive usage and evolving quality of service demands from mobile users. rapid increase traffic demand, combined the intricate nature heterogeneous network (HetNet) scenarios, significantly heightened confronting operators. These encompass quality, load distribution, coverage, overall user experience. Conventional approaches that prioritize maximum received power cell association mechanism tend sustain imbalances within HetNets, making it difficult cater diverse requirements In this study, instead focusing solely on enhancing individual downlink rates, we maximize number users whose needs are satisfied by integrating a range extension (CRE) technique an ant colony optimization algorithm. Our proposed method considers both workload base stations signal interference-plus-noise ratio devices formulate objective function aimed at calculating specific CRE bias values small stations. A comparative analysis approach existing techniques demonstrates its effectiveness. Simulation results underscore success our strategy meeting users’ throughput while reducing call drop rates.
