Micropropagation Protocols for Three Elite Genotypes of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni

The Stevia rebaudiana Germplasm Bank at the University of Cordoba, Colombia, plays a pivotal role in conserving and efficiently utilizing genetic variability this species. Despite safeguarding promising genotypes with valuable traits, such as late flowering or significant diterpenoid glycoside content, there is need for an efficient mass propagation protocol elite genotypes. This study aims to develop vitro micropropagation protocols three S. (L020, L102, Morita II). methods employed various combinations cytokinins auxins following organogenesis protocols. results showed that optimal shoot multiplication (17.3 shoots per explant) L020 was achieved when cultures were grown on basal medium MS supplemented 1 μM 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP). For (18.5 BAP 0.5 naphthalene acetic acid (NAA), while II, best treatment 2 NAA, producing 16.4 explant. successfully genotypes, highlighting impact genotype tissue culture, particularly multiplication. Developing successful system crucial conservation improvement rebaudiana, implications its future use performance.
