Urolithiasis is one of the most burdensome urinary tract conditions with a prevalence ranging from 1% to 20%. Approximately half patients experience recurrence, while 10% face multiple stone episodes. Long before advent surgical treatment options, herbal therapy, or phytotherapy, had been used for both prevention and management urolithiasis. Recently, interest in phytotherapy has rekindled due limitations associated modern urolithiasis treatment, limited options conventional medical added cost interventions stones. While research on still limited, it ongoing yielding promising results. In order capture current trend urolithiasis, we performed narrative review data collected synthesized electronic databases, specific focus randomized human studies. Our analysis revealed that use various medicines either as mixtures sole plant extracts, rise mainly utilized complementary therapy treatment. Although studies demonstrate effectiveness reducing size facilitating expulsion, several questions regarding dosages, mechanisms action, drug interactions, duration, types stones respond remain unanswered. This aims summarize knowledge surrounding role determine its primary alongside traditional options. Ultimately, further essential clarify abovementioned unresolved issues, overcome existing challenges, optimize best possible strategies timing dissolving these regimens.
