This study was carried out on Fagus orientalis Lipsky (Oriental beech), Carpinus hornbeam), and Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl. (Sessile oak) species that naturally spread in the Çaycuma district of Zonguldak province, an industrial area northwestern Türkiye. The aimed to determine annual changes barium (Ba) concentrations rings wood species. Moreover, Ba inner outer bark were compared with concentration wood, determined by years directions. As a result, lowest mean found hornbeam for all organs, whereas highest values (944134 ppb) (46996 beech. oak 927482 ppb. For three species, obtained side higher. showed are useful monitoring pollution air can be used this purpose. However, most suitable reduce is orientalis, which has storage ability part.

Morphological measurements of Anatolian chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.) leaves were done within the borders Abana district Kastamonu province. The study was conducted using mixed (oak, beech, hornbeam, black pine, and yellow pine) medium (41% to 70%) fully closed (71% 100%) stands. Some leaf parameters, such as blade width, petiole length, distance between lateral veins, teeth angle base petiole, midrib measured. Moreover, stomata picked up from precise altitudes observed under a scanning electron microscope. differences fibre elevation, wall thickness, elasticity coefficient, rigidity Muhlstep rate, Runkel ratio found in wood samples taken different altitude zones. It that did not affect felting ratio, lumen width. However, it determined affected other studied characteristics.

Therefore, among pollutants, heavy metals have a specific ecological importance. carcinogenic and, due their bioaccumulative, non-degradable, refractory characteristics, they pose serious health risks systems environment. Pinus pinaster (Pp), Cupressus arizonica (Cpa), Picea orientalis (Po), Cedrus atlantica (Cda) Pseudotsuga menziesii (Pm) species were examined present study. Changes Ge concentrations these by directions organs periods 1988-1992 2013-2017 determined. As result study, lowest concentration was found west Pb (872.8) highest one north Cpa (6367.5). The study revealed that accumulation plant analyzed here at considerably high level. These results suggest pollution air very high.

Abstract Airborne metals and organic pollutants are linked to severe human health impacts, i.e. affecting the nervous system being associated with cancer. polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in urban environments derived from diverse sources, including combustion industrial vehicular emissions, posing a threat air quality subsequently health. A lichen biomonitoring approach was used assess spatial variability of airborne PAHs, identify potential pollution sources risks across City Manchester (UK). Metal concentrations recorded samples were highest within city centre area along major road network, PAH profiles dominated by 4-ring PAHs (189.82 ng g −1 Xanthoria parietina ), 5- 6-ring also contributing overall profile. Cluster analysis index factor (PIF) calculations for lichen-derived metal suggested deteriorated primarily emissions. Comparably, diagnostic ratios identified as primary cause Manchester. However, local more complex (e.g. emissions) further identified. Human risk assessment found “moderate” adults children harmful element (PHEs) concentrations, whereas exposure is potentially 1455 (ILCR = 1.45 × 10 −3 ) cancer cases (in 1,000,000). Findings this study indicate that an easy-to-use can aid hotspots impaired impacts environment, particularly at locations not continuously covered (non-)automated measurement programmes. Graphical

Background: Heavy metal contamination in the air has been gaining importance from scientists due to increasing industrial activities, population growth, and density urban areas causing many crucial environmental pollution problems. metals do not quickly disappear decay nature; they accumulate plant organs indirectly affect human health. On other hand, some elements are essential for but have poisonous or carcinogenic consequences, even at small concentrations. Thus, determining observing heavy concentrations atmosphere is crucial., Plants utmost important indicator of concentration changes called biomonitors. The current study aims determine variation (K, P, Fe, Zn, Cu, Cd, Cr) inPicea pungensEngelm. (valued its bluish silvery-gray foliage) grown Ankara city center (capital Türkiye second crowded city), based on needles age branch. this tried potential using needle leaves branches ofP. pungens as a biomonitor Results: significantly differed by organ age. element levels were higher years years. Conclusions: This result indicates that Picea suitable studied Using does also harm species.
