Few studies have investigated the adverse effects of preconception phthalate (PAE) exposure on birth weight in couples receiving assisted reproductive technology (ART) compared to naturally conceived newborns.ObjectivesWe examined association between parental preconception/prenatal urinary and low (LBW) risk who using ART or naturally.From Jiangsu Birth Cohort Study (China), we recruited 544 after infertility treatment 940 gave a singleton infant November 2014 December 2019. Abstract Phthalates are found in plastic food containers, medical plastics, and personal care products. However, the effects of long-term phthalate exposure on female reproduction unknown. Thus, this study investigated long-term, dietary estrous cyclicity fertility mice. Thyroid hormones (THs) play a crucial role in various biological functions, including metabolism, cell growth, and nervous system development, any alteration involving the structure of thyroid gland TH secretion may result disease. Growing evidence suggests that phthalate plasticizers, which are commonly used wide range products (e.g., food packaging materials, children’s toys, cosmetics, medical devices), can impact function, primarily affecting serum levels THs TH-related gene expression. Like compounds, recently introduced alternative plasticizers leach from their source material into environment, particularly foods, although so far only very limited number studies have investigated toxicity. This review aimed at summarizing current knowledge on non-phthalate dysfunction disease, describing major mechanisms underlying this relationship. ABSTRACT Background Polystyrene microplastics (PS‐MPs) are pervasive pollutants impacting animals across ecosystems, including livestock and wildlife, through contaminated food, water, air. MPs may disrupt endocrine function, particularly affecting the thyroid gland, which is essential for metabolism development. Objectives This study investigates effects of PS‐MPs on function in mice, offering insights relevant to veterinary care by examining changes gene expression biochemical markers. Methods 5 µm diameter were prepared distilled water after probe sonication. Sixty male Swiss albino mice divided into three groups: a control group two treatment groups receiving 0.1 mg 0.2 via oral gavage 28 days. Mice anesthetised, tissues collected histopathological, biochemical, analyses. Biochemical tests included catalase, superoxide dismutase, reactive oxygen species, hormone levels. Histopathology ( TSHR TPO ) thyroid‐related genes examined assess induced effects. Results Exposure led significant increases calcium, thyroxin, free T3, T4, ALP, AST, ALT, amylase levels, alongside elevated oxidative stress Conversely, levels TSH, calcitonin, magnesium phosphate decreased. Histopathological analysis showed abnormal follicle development, decrease parafollicular cells, with colloid loss, haemorrhage, necrosis. Gene revealed marked reduction treated groups, indicating dysfunction. These findings highlight profound impact gland mice. Conclusion underscore potential risks that pose health, consequences other species. As environmental contamination rises, veterinarians encounter more disorders linked PS‐MPs, emphasising need further research preventive measures.
