The accountability audit of natural resources (AANR) is a major institutional arrangement for advancing the construction an ecological civilization in China. Based on panel data 271 cities China from 2005 to 2017, this paper investigates relationship between AANR and carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emissions using multi-period difference-in-differences (DID) model. results show that significantly increases CO emission reduction rate by 0.009 units at 5% significance level. still hold after series robustness tests. Given all else being equal, significant effect 0.001. Further analyses improves pilot cities’ rates mainly enhancing their green innovation capability. mediating technology capability accounts 96.00%, while AANR’s direct only 4.00%. has positive effects 0.017% 0.029% western with high fiscal pressure 1% levels, respectively. Therefore, strengthening implementation efficiency innovations implementing dynamically differentiated policies Chinese meso-cities will contribute achievement China’s peaking neutrality targets.

Global climate change triggered by the escalating carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions resulting from heightened economic expansion and consumption of energy represents foremost environmental concern in contemporary global context. China is accountable for nearly 27% total CO2 emissions, making it largest emitter worldwide. This study explores consequences outgrowth, fossil fuel, renewable utilization on China's CO2. The utilized an autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model to analyze annual data 1965 2022. ARDL bounds test results indicate presence long-term cointegration among variables. empirical specify that a 1% growth fuels economy leads 4.97% 0.58% emissions. In short term, these increases amount 2.42% 1.21%, respectively. Conversely, enhancement could result reduction 1.39%, whereas would be 0.50%. proposes policy suggestions attainment sustainable development neutrality.

Abstract Because of the reductions in China’s cultivated land area and significant impact on agricultural market, main grain-producing areas (MGPA) policy has become vitally important for ensuring food security. However, guaranteed security sustainability require ecological security, which raises question whether production should come at expense environment. This study used 1998–2020 panel data from 30 Chinese provinces a spatial difference-in-differences model (SDID) to explore MGPA effects mechanism paths total factor productivity (ATFP) net carbon effect (NCS). It was found that economically, promoted local ATFP improvements had positive spillover surrounding through diffusion, environmentally, implementation but inhibited NCS provinces. Further explorations environmental performances revealed growth sinks emissions, with being primarily reflected an increase decline emissions density. The test showed policy’s performance achieved economic performance. refined into technical innovation (TI), technology adoption (TA), business scale (OS), mechanistic roles these three refining OS > TI TA. A further were influenced by various adjustment support, government collaborative support. Based above analysis, this gives recommendations ensure realization dual target.

Sensitive zone of global climate change has been formed in China, and it become a hot topic how can agriculture ensure food security the supply important agricultural products while achieving "Dual Carbon" goal country. Based on such background, this paper uses IPCC carbon emission calculation method, environmental input-output model economic-water-carbon coefficient method to measure net emissions, adopts bivariate spatial auto-correlation analysis SYS-GMM explore separately relationship between emissions effective products, as well reduction effect, growth effect reasonable range green technology innovation. The results show that: (1) China's reveal distribution "higher east than west center" temporal characteristic increasing year by year; shows an trend center west" 2006–2012 2013–2020. (2) In 2006, 2010, 2015 2020, number provinces that belong low-low agglomeration trade-off zone, low-high synergy non-significant high-low non-trade-off-synergy high-high averagely accounted for 12.500 %, 30.000 26.667 9.167 % 21.667 totality, respectively. (3) production effects innovation both inverted "U-shape", is conducive reducing improving when within greater 0.930. (4) Green not only significant heterogeneity impact, but also exhibits differential productive trade sinks, total output imports international trade. Therefore, proposed China should establish improve incubation platforms, guide all participants investment application range, formulate implement regional policies plan accordance with local conditions, drive ultimately coordinated promotion product guarantee lay foundation high-quality economic development efficient ecological protection.

The Chinese government proposed the policy of leading officials' accountability audit natural resources (AANR) in 2013 and launched pilot audits some regions 2014. In order to explore whether AANR reduces corporate environmental pollution, this paper validates impact on emission reduction using a multi-period difference-in-difference (DID) method based sample A-share heavy-polluting corporations from 2010 2017. results indicated that can significantly reduce pollutant emissions, with legitimacy pressures resource dependence playing mediating role. Further research found promoted more strongly for large-sized political connection corporations, higher internal external governance levels. Policy effects were significant favorable economic growth legalization. above findings verify effect micro corporation pollution management, enrich theoretical system research, provide meaningful empirical evidence AANR's further improvement.
