Nanocellulose shows potential as an effective natural adsorbent for removing harmful contaminants from wastewater. This paper describes the development of innovative nanocellulose thin films made cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), polyacrylic acid (PAA), and active carbon (AC) materials absorbing azo dyes The CNCs were recovered sugarcane bagasse using alkali treatment hydrolysis. composition processing parameters optimized, their adsorption capacity was determined thermodynamic isotherms kinetics. Adsorption characteristics such methylene blue (MB) dye concentration, contact time, temperature, pH investigated to determine how they affected adsorption. results show that process follows pseudo-second-order At mass 50 mg, concentration ppm in mL, period 120 min at 25 °C, film comprising 64 wt% CNC, 16 PAA, 20 AC showed high removal efficiency (86.3%) (43.15 mg/g). MB increased 95.56% 47.78 mg/g when medium's gradually neutral alkaline. nontoxicity, low production cost, water stability, easy recovery, these membranes make them suitable systems.

Abstract The surge in Nigeria's population has led to heightened demands for food, clean water, and agricultural products, resulting a significant increase waste generation. Nigeria ranks among the top countries globally terms of production, particularly from agriculture. Unfortunately, management these vast quantities is often inadequate, leading environmental pollution, disease, CO 2 emissions. While reducing such important, completely stopping generation agriculture impossible. Therefore, it becomes imperative adopt eco-friendly cost-effective approaches handling this waste, including collection, conversion, treatment, recycling, reuse. Effectively managing can mitigate pollution its adverse impacts on public health. This review delves into environmental, economic, health challenges associated with Nigeria. It highlights importance implementing sustainable practices reuse, application. By harnessing materials effectively, stands reap economic benefits while simultaneously safeguarding environment pollution.

This paper explores the intricate relations between biomass polymeric composition, thermochemical conversion routes, char yields and features in order to advance knowledge on processes customize them meet specific requirements. An exhaustive characterization has been performed for three types of biomasses: (i) spruce bark, a woody primary secondary residue from forestry wood processing; (ii) wheat straws—agricultural waste harvest arable permanent cropland; (iii) vine shoots, resulting vineyard waste. Chemical (proximate ultimate analysis), biochemical, trace elements, thermal analyses were performed. Also, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis conducted establish compositional structural characteristics feedstock. The main components influence amount quality char. high hemicellulose content recommends straws as good candidate especially hydrothermal carbonization. Cellulose is contributor formation during pyrolysis, suggesting that shoots may yield higher-quality compared converted straws. It was shown can be predicted strongly dependent composition. While case bark straws, lignin major contribution formation, cellulose are contributors
