The use of digital finance to promote firm environmental, social, and governance (ESG) fulfillment is the key achieving sustainable development. This study uses data Chinese listed firms from 2010 2019 China Digital Financial Inclusion Index Peking University empirically examine impact mechanism on ESG performance. Results show that significantly positively impacts Mechanism tests reveal influences performance by promoting green innovation, improving goodwill reducing agency costs. Moreover, political connections negatively moderate relationship between performance, while regional institutional development moderates this relationship.. Subdivision dimension test shows main factors affecting are depth degree digitization, breadth coverage not significant. can also innovation integrates value effect with concept development, which has important theoretical practical significance.
