Effectively controlling the carbon emissions intensity of transportation sector (TSCEI) is essential to promote sustainable development industry in China. This study, which builds upon trend analysis, Dagum Gini coefficient, and spatial autocorrelation analysis reveal spatiotemporal differentiation TSCEI, employs both traditional Markov chain analyze dynamic evolution TSCEI forecast its future trend. Furthermore, econometric models are constructed examine convergence characteristics TSCEI. The empirical results following key findings: (1) China has significantly declined, exhibiting a distribution pattern “higher north, lower south; higher west, east”. (2) Inter-regional differences main contributors overall disparities, with provincial positive autocorrelation, primarily characterized by high–high low–low agglomeration. (3) tends gradually shift from high- low-intensity states over time, an equilibrium probability 90.98% for transferring state. Provincial shows significant spillover effects, influenced neighboring provinces’ states. (4) demonstrates at national regional levels, including σ convergence, absolute conditional β energy structure technological progress playing particularly prominent role facilitating towards values. policy implications promoting reducing inequality discussed.

Engineering Construction & Architectural Management, Journal Year: 2024, Volume and Issue: unknown

Published: June 21, 2024

Purpose The study aims to enhance energy efficiency within the high-energy consuming construction industry. It explores spatial-temporal dynamics and distribution patterns of total factor (TFEE) across China’s industry, aiming inform targeted emission reduction policies at provincial city levels. Design/methodology/approach Utilizing a three-stage super-efficiency SBM-DEA model that integrates carbon emissions, TFEE in 30 Chinese provinces cities from 2004 2019 is assessed. Through kernel density estimation exploratory spatial data analysis, dynamic evolution are examined. Findings Analysis reveals environmental investments positively impact TFEE, whereas Gross Regional Product (GRP) exerts negative influence. R&D expenditure intensity marketization show mixed effects. Excluding random factors, averages declined, aligning more closely with actual development trends, showing gradual decrease east west. exhibited fluctuating growth trend moving inefficient clusters even distribution. Spatially, demonstrated aggregation effects characteristics space-time transition. Originality/value This research employs measure taking into account external environment, disturbances, multiple effective decision-making units. also evaluates changes before after removing disturbances comprehensively examines regional temporal differences static dynamic, overall phased perspectives. Additionally, Moran scatter plots LISA cluster maps used objectively analyze agglomeration factors influencing efficiency.

Shrinking and growing cities are categories of characterized by population loss or add, the issue carbon emissions in these is often neglected. Environmental regulation, as an important influence on emissions, plays role promoting low-carbon transition Chinese cities. This study focused 272 China from 2012–2021, constructed a comprehensive indicator to classify four city types, calculated emissions. Spatial-temporal characteristics evolution impacts environmental regulation were investigated. Carbon rapidly showed downward trend, whereas those slightly growing, shrinking, shrinking upward trends. The more grew shrunk, higher its average Growing cities’ center gravity their migrated northwest. high northeast, emission centers northeast southwest, respectively, with obvious spatial autocorrelation types. Strengthening regulations significantly positively affected reduction. impact reduction was temporally spatially heterogeneous significant non-resource

The rural integrated energy systems are geographically dispersed, and different regions have varying natural resource endowments. To leverage the differences between resources demands of in achieve complementary advantages, a strategy based on mixed-game theory for multi-region systems' mutual support operation is proposed. involves establishing cluster alliance consisting multiple game model involving renewable operators. By employing theory, strives to strike balance interests entities. operator aims maximize profits, while minimize costs. approach models problem using combination hierarchical cooperative modes. provides with purchase sale electricity prices, optimizes transaction prices exports volume operator. process iterates until achieved among all parties. solved differential evolution alternating direction method multipliers (ADMM). validate model's rationality, reasonable multi-agent established three types regions. case study results demonstrate that proposed can complementarity regions, thereby enhancing economic environmental performance system.
