Changes in trade freedom affect national economic development and energy demand, which turn affects clean development. This study assesses the impact of on 114 countries from 2006 to 2020. Empirical testing shows that significantly inhibits a linear manner. The results also indicate higher GDP per capita increased governmental capacity control corruption are both important factors contributing In addition, by incorporating mediating mechanisms, this finds increasing country’s innovation openness. Finally, exploring possible moderating effects, show carbon emissions bank lending weaken negative effect development, while globalization government expenditure strengthen effect. offers vital insights policymakers balancing advancement liberalization policies with

Abstract In order to reach the carbon neutrality (CAN) target, this current study examined roles of research and development (R&D), patent (PAT), economic growth (ECG), renewable energy consumption (REC), internal freshwater (RIF) taxes (CAT) in achieving CAN from BRICS perspective. We employed panel data countries 2000 2020 with second-generational econometric estimators (AMG CCEMG). discovered that R&D, RIF CAT promote by mitigating emissions (CO2) methane (CH4). Our findings indicated REC contributes massively CAN. ECG was found initially delays objective. detected Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) BRICS. URB IND also had controlling influence prolonging agenda. The authors a feedback mechanism ECG, REC, RIF, CO2, CH4 BRICS, indicating granger cause vice versa. Finally, based on country-wise details analysis variables, China recorded highest CH4, PAT, India Brazil Russia CAT.
