Abstract
Warfare
inflicts
profound
ecological
damage
that
undermines
global
sustainability,
yet
the
environmental
costs
of
conflict
remain
critically
under-assessed
due
to
fragmented
and
impractical
evaluation
frameworks.
This
study
presents
a
novel
AI-powered
assessment
model
integrates
Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response
(DPSIR)
framework
with
generative
AI,
satellite
data,
expert
validation
systematically
quantify
impacts
in
zones.
The
enables
scalable,
real-time
evaluations
both
immediate
effects—such
as
deforestation
chemical
spills—and
latent
risks
like
groundwater
contamination,
even
hazardous
or
inaccessible
areas.
By
providing
scientifically
rigorous
actionable
insights,
this
empowers
policymakers
prioritize
restoration,
strengthen
accountability,
integrate
nature-based
recovery
strategies
into
post-conflict
rebuilding.
