Financial development and geopolitical risks are crucial for understanding the consumption of renewable energies (CREs), given sustainability challenges global economy. This research examines nonlinear impact financial on adopting in 10 emerging countries facing between 1985 2022. By employing two regime‐switching approaches (panel threshold autoregressive (PTAR) panel smooth transition autoregression (PSTAR)), results indicate correlations domestic bank credit granted to private sector adoption energies. The optimal value PTAR model is 40.171, while those PSTAR 35.705 122.9. Below thresholds models, decreases CREs. Beyond these thresholds, promotes CRE through specific incentives, such as low‐interest loans tax credits energy projects, well creation specialized instruments, green bonds. Geopolitical issues have prompted governments diversify their sources intensify investments strengthen security reduce dependence volatile fossil fuel markets. Therefore, terms policy implications, education, mitigation risks, goals must be priorities national efforts promote sustainable economic growth. JEL Classification: C23, C54, K32, Q43

Europe has recently experienced an energy crisis that began with the war between Russia and Ukraine continued reciprocal sanctions power cuts, increasing geopolitical tensions risks. In such environment, European countries must decide how to replace imports from Russia. As best option may be rely on clean energy, this study explores risk (GPR) affects electricity generation (i.e., hydro, solar, wind, & nuclear) in five Bulgaria, Czechia, Germany, Romania, Switzerland), which have a high dependency The therefore uses daily data January 2, 2019 29, 2024 applies set of nonlinear methods wavelet coherence, quantile-on-quantile regression, Granger causality quantiles, quantile regression). results show (i) there is strong dependence GPR renewable nuclear over different times, frequencies, countries; (ii) stimulates hydro at higher quantiles across except Czechia; (iii) increases solar all Czechia Switzerland; (iv) mainly wind for Bulgaria (v) almost inefficient generation. Overall, clearly shows supportive effect promoting renewables, while not case energy. Therefore, can renewables as alternative against blackouts short term, considering varying based time, frequency, quantile, country, sources. • Whether rising boost production investigated. Frequency nonlinearity characteristics utilized are considered. rise does supply. augment tension
