The precise manipulation of supramolecular polymorphs has been widely applied to control the morphologies and functions self-assemblies, but is rarely utilized for fabrication circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) materials with tailored properties. Here, this work reports that an amphiphilic naphthalene-histidine compound (NIHis) readily self-assembled into distinct chiral nanostructures through pathway-dependent polymorphism, which shows opposite multistimuli responsive CPL signals. Specifically, NIHis display assembly-induced from polymorphic keto tautomer, become predominant during enol-keto tautomerization shifting controlled by a bulk solvent effect. Interestingly, nanofiber microbelt inverted signals can be prepared same monomer in exactly compositions concentrations only changing temperature. tunable performance solid microbelts realized under multi external physical or chemical stimuli including grinding, acid fuming, heating. In particular, emission color on-off switch based on polymorph reversible heating-cooling protocol developed. This brings new approach developing smart via polymorphism engineering.

Herein, supramolecular polymerization of styrylpyrenes R / S -PEB) utilized attain this aim, which can self-assemble into helical nanoribbons. Benefiting from the dominant CH-π interactions between chromophores, solution -PEB shows remarkable blue-color CPL property : 0.011, 69%). From gel, emission color (blue yellow-green) handedness –0.011 +0.005) are concurrently manipulated, while corresponding chirality maintains unchanged, representing rare example color-dependent materials. Thanks confine effect, [2 + 2] cycloaddition reaction rate 10.5 times higher than that monomeric solution. In contrast, no occurs for gel assembled solid samples. Our findings provide vision fabricating multi-modal high-performance CPL-active materials, paving way development advanced photo-responsive chiral systems.
