Problematic social media use (PSMU) and problematic gaming (PG) among university students as specific types of internet (PIU) have become a growing concern. PSMU PG may lead to negative outcomes such academic exhaustion diminished hope. However, previous studies not simultaneously considered the associations these variables from perspective Stressor-Strain-Outcome model. Furthermore, concept 'mattering'-the feeling being valued important others 'fear mattering' in this dynamic is notably under-investigated. The present study aimed examine evaluated whether mattering profiles moderated involving PIU students.A survey was conducted 3,035 China, with an average age 19.24 years (SD = 1.83). sample included 52% males 48% females 19 different universities. Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale, Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short Form, General Mattering Fear Not Inventory, Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey, Dispositional Hope Scale were utilized evaluate PSMU, PG, general mattering, fear exhaustion, hope, respectively. latent profile analysis used categorize into distinct based on measures others.Correlational analyses indicated that associated greater reduced higher levels mattering.
