Increasing soil organic carbon (SOC) in cropland soils improves health and water quality, crop productivity, resilience to climate-driven changes by influencing key processes. However, research on SOC sequestration based bibliometric analyses of highly cited documents is lacking. This study investigated the current status development characteristics, impact, intellectual base, hotspots using Web Science Core Collection databases from 2012 2022. The analysis visualization tools such as Biblioshiny, VOSviewer, CiteSpace, Power BI, Flourish Studio, provided a comprehensive approach for evaluation, identifying trends, knowledge mapping research. findings indicate that United States China dominate global research, with Chinese Academy Sciences leading institution. Key journals include Soil Biology Biochemistry Geoderma. e. trend topic graph indicated “soil carbon” matter” are most persistent themes since 2015. In contrast, recent focuses “climate change mitigation,” health” aggregation”. Moreover, burst citation keywords revealed significant insights into potential role microbes transforming stabilizing matter. present emphasized adopting management practices aimed at enhancing inputs increases C croplands, thus improving help advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
