Air pollution and climate change are risk factors for noncommunicable diseases of paramount importance major concern in a population. Their complex interaction suggests the need an integrated participatory approach by health professionals citizens. During Italian BRIGHT-NIGHT (European Researchers’ Night) at Pisa Research Campus National Council (CNR), laboratory focusing on environmental epidemiology issues open to public was set up. A self-administered questionnaire distributed, with aim investigating individual perception, knowledge, opinions attitudes relation 12 different environmental, natural anthropogenic hazards. The completed 44 subjects aged over 18 years (47.6% female, 56.8% university graduates, 61.4% employed). were considered two priorities protection 72.1%, prompting about one third commit increasing active commuting. results this pilot survey indicate diffuse awareness air as main determinants be tackled order protect health.
