ABSTRACT Exploring cost‐effective and high‐performance adsorbents plays a crucial role in the efficient utilization of agricultural waste remediation heavy metal contamination water bodies. This study focuses on preparing biomass carbon ( BC ) from banana pseudostems for metals water. A systematic investigation was conducted to evaluate effects initial solution concentration, pH, reaction time, temperature, coexisting cations adsorption Mn(II), Cd(II), Pb(II), andCu (II) by . The results showed that capacity all four reached its peak at pH 6. process primarily governed monolayer chemisorption. Furthermore, is spontaneous, endothermic, accompanied an increase entropy. In multimetal system, demonstrated strongest selectivity Pb(II). Even presence interfering ions, maintained high metals. Notably, after 5 cycles use, retained significant removal rate 40%–60% metals, underscoring recyclability environmental friendliness. Characterization studies indicated involves multiple mechanisms, including ion exchange, mineral precipitation, functional group complexation, cation‐π interactions. dissolved organic matter (DOM) derived biochar pivotal process. preparation both straightforward cost‐effective, combining economic viability with practical applicability.
