Despite numerous publications on membrane materials and the fabrication of thin-film composite (TFC) membranes for CO2 separation in recent decades, effects porous supports TFC performance have rarely been reported, especially when humid conditions are concerned. In this work, six commonly used were investigated to study their morphology gas transport properties membranes. Two common materials, Pebax poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), employed as selective layers make sample The fabricated tested under conditions, effect water vapor permeation was studied. experiments showed that all exhibited notably different performances dry or conditions. For polyacrylonitrile (PAN) poly(ether sulfones) (PESF) membranes, easily condenses pores these supports, thus sharply increasing mass transfer resistance. is less case polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) polysulfone (PSF), showing better long-term stability. Porous significantly contribute overall presence worsens support due pore condensation material swelling. condition must be optimized avoid maintain good performance.
