Abstract Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) over perovskite oxides, upon undergoing a lattice oxygen oxidation mechanism, is strongly vacancy‐correlated as determined by the ion diffusivity. Despite substantial efforts having been devoted to tuning vacancy concentration in impact of concomitant altering ordering often underestimated. In particular, underlying mechanism how and affect OER, well balance them still remain inadequately understood. Herein, series Sr 1− x Ca Co 0.5 Fe O 3− δ with gradually increased are synthesized. Theoretical calculations indicated that higher promoted migration, whereas impeded it. Particularly, relatively lower displayed maximum diffusion rate optimal OER activity, affording current density 10 mA cm −2 at quite low overpotential 310.2 mV, together small Tafel slope 55.87 mV dec −1 . This study sheds light on critical influence configuration paves compromised avenue screen design advanced electrocatalysts for various electrochemical devices.
