Tobacco, being a globally cultivated crop, holds significant social and economic importance. Tobacco plants are susceptible to the adverse effects of heavy metals (HMs), particularly cadmium (Cd), which hinders root development, disrupts water balance, impedes nutrient absorption. Higher concentrations HMs, especially Cd, naturally accumulate in tobacco leaves due complex interactions within plant–soil continuum. The uptake Cd by from soil is influenced several factors, including type, pH, irrigation quality, chemical composition metal involved. Different techniques, such as bioremediation, phytoremediation, mycoremediation, have been employed tackle issue HMs. use biochar offers practical solution mitigate this problem. With its large surface area porous nature, can effectively alleviate HMs contamination. Under application, adsorption primarily occurs through physical adsorption, where ions trapped pores biochar. Additionally, electrostatic attraction, negatively charged surfaces attract positively ions, another major mechanism remediation facilitated In review, we documented, compiled, interpreted novel recent information on stress explored biochar’s role alleviating toxicity. By providing comprehensive review persistent threat posed crops exploring potential measure, work aims enhance our understanding contribute development sustainable agricultural practices.

One of the most critical problems throughout world is air pollution, causing death millions individuals annually, and it reported that 90% global population breathes polluted air. Among components harmful ones are heavy metals, which can remain non-degraded in nature for a long time, bio-accumulate living organisms, be toxic or carcinogenic at low concentrations. Hence, monitoring reducing metal pollution high-priority research topics. Heavy metals accumulate within various organs plants grown an environment with increased level pollution. The analyses on these provide insight into In present study, concentrations aluminum (Al), one important were determined different five plant species regions traffic densities. Remarkable changes observed Al all species, examined here by organ density. highest values obtained from no-traffic regions.

The usability of black pine (Pinus nigra Arnold) in both monitoring the changes concentrations silver (Ag), selenium (Se), antimony (Sb), and thallium (Tl), reducing soil or air pollution was investigated. In study, annual rings a Pinus tree, cut 2023 identified as 356 years old, were grouped into 10-year intervals, then these heavy metals throughout process determined by analysing elements. Additionally, relationship elements with other also detected scope study. study results suggested that not suitable bio-monitor for Ag, Se, Sb, Tl air, but it highly species phytoremediation studies aimed at Moreover, relationships studied essential nutrients, such Mg, Ca, P, K, Al, Zn, Ni, Fe, statistically significant very weak; whereas they exhibited positive strong known to be harmful health V, Pb, As.
