Maize (Zea mays L.) is one of the most important food crops in world. Drought currently abiotic factor affecting maize yield. L-arginine has emerged as a nontoxic plant growth regulator that enhances tolerance plants to drought. An experiment was conducted examine role alleviating inhibitory effects drought on photosynthetic capacity and activities antioxidant enzymes when were subjected stress. The results showed biomass seedlings decreased significantly under 20% polyethylene glycol-simulated water deficit compared with control treatment. However, exogenous application alleviated inhibition induced by Further analysis parameters partially restored chloroplasts' structure stress increased contents chlorophyll, performance index an adsorption basis, Fv/Fm 151.3%, 105.5%, 37.1%, respectively. Supplementation also reduced oxidative damage caused hydrogen peroxide, malondialdehyde, superoxide ions 27.2%, 10.0%, 31.9%, Accordingly, ascorbate peroxidase, catalase, glutathione S-transferase, reductase, dismutase 11.6%, 108.5%, 104.4%, 181.1%, 18.3%, 46.1%, respectively, Thus, these findings suggest can improve resistance upregulating their rate photosynthesis capacity.

Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) is currently a known plant with the most hosts, broadest distribution, and economic hazard. To develop new antiviral drugs against this serious virus, range of coumarin derivatives containing sulfonamide dithioacetal structures were designed synthesized, their anti-CMV activities detected by half-leaf dead spot method. The results biological activity assay showed that compounds exhibited outstanding activity. Especially, compound C23 displayed optimal in vivo activity, an EC50 value 128 μg/mL, which was remarkably better than COS (781 μg/mL) ningnanmycin (436 μg/mL). Excitingly, we found could be promising activator significantly increased defense-related enzyme tobacco chlorophyll content. Furthermore, enhanced defense responses viral infection inducing abscisic acid (ABA) pathway tobacco. This work established basis for multifunction pesticide discovery involving mechanism action study structure optimization.
