Aquatic toxicology, as a result of industrial and agrieqcultural effluences, has become global concern impacting not only the well-being aquatic organisms but human health well. The current study evaluated impact four toxic trace elements (TTEs) Cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), lead (Pb), nickel (Ni) in three organs (liver, gills, muscles) five fish species viz, Rita rita , Sperata sarwari Wallago attu Mastacembelus armatus Cirrhinus mrigala collected from right left banks Punjnad headworks during winter, spring, summer. The round goby (Neogobius melanostomus) is an invasive species that can be used as a raw material in the food industry and also bioindicator of heavy metal pollution environment. In this study, Cd, Co, Cr, Mo, Ni, Pb were determined water, bottom sediment, muscle, liver, gills, gonads from Dąbie Lake, Szczecin Lagoon, Puck Bay (all southern Baltic Sea) using atomic absorption spectrometry. Fulton's condition factor, gonadal hepatosomatic indices (GSI, HSI) calculated. Based on estimated daily intake (EDI), target hazard quotient (THQ), carcinogenic risk (CR), we assessed human health related to consumption metals goby. fish had length weight ranges 15.0–16.7 cm 55.3–80.9 g, respectively. factor ranged 1.26 2.48 was highest (p < 0.05) for Lake. range concentrations (in μg kg−1) 2.92 (Cd muscles Lagoon) 106.4 (Ni Lake). found livers, Ni gonads, Cr gills. calculated EDIs below reference oral dose (RfD) maximum Cd (1.6% RfD) (15.1% RfD). less than 1. conclusion, has higher potential accumulate water sediments. Consumption its muscle should not pose (cancer considered acceptable). Due accumulation, moderate recommended pregnant women children. Finally, our results indicate (especially liver) monitor contamination aquatic ecosystems.
