Previous studies have found that the relationship between metabolic indicators and Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) in non-diabetic adults remains unclear. This study aims to explore association HT, providing new theoretical insights for clinical management of HT. Clinical data were collected from 2,015 at Guangdong Provincial Hospital Chinese Medicine. The HT was analyzed using SPSS 26.0, R (version 4.2.1), Zstats. Among adult participants included study, 1,877 non-HT group, while 138 group. Significant differences observed indicators, including serum uric acid (SUA), creatinine (SCr), albumin (ALB) high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), two groups, with statistical significance. A binary logistic regression model established, revealing SCr had a significant impact both univariate multivariate analyses. To further investigate we conducted restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis. results demonstrated clear non-linear SUA before after adjustment (All P < 0.01). Therefore, based on inflection points derived RCS analysis, segmented analysis performed. findings indicated low high levels (Lower OR: 2.043; 95% CI: 1.405-3.019; 0.001; Higher 2.369; 0.998-4.999; = 0.034). is first reveal U-shaped risk suggesting maintaining within range 359.0-540.0 μmol/L may help reduce occurrence. finding provides perspective early intervention long-term particularly terms regulation patients, which holds potential value.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC) poses a significant health challenge worldwide, primarily due to late-stage diagnosis and the limited effectiveness of current therapies. Cancer stem cells are known play role in tumor development, metastasis, resistance treatment. While 5-fluorouracil (5FU) plays a central role in chemotherapy for colorectal cancer (CRC), resistance to 5FU remains major challenge CRC treatment, and its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we investigated the relationship between acquisition, stemness, energy metabolism. Among two cell lines, HT29 cells exhibited glycolytic quiescent properties, while CT26 relied on oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) energy. contrast, 5FU-resistant sublines (HT29R CT26R), developed through continuous exposure low concentrations of 5FU, demonstrated enhanced stemness. This was associated with dominance, proliferation, reduced reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. However, treatment medium-chain fatty acid lauric shifted OXPHOS, reducing increasing ROS levels, inducing death, therefore reversing resistance. These findings suggest that an enhancement stemness reprogramming metabolism play key roles acquiring CRC. reversed resistance, further clinical studies are required.
