Background Osteoporosis is a multifactorial bone disease in which lipid metabolism plays an important role. Bone Mineral Density (BMD) measured by Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) critical indicator for diagnosing osteoporosis. The cardiometabolic index (CMI) novel metric that combines two quantitative indicators of blood lipids—triglycerides (TG) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). This study explores the association between CMI BMD seeks to elucidate role context health. Methods Based on data National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2017–March 2020-pre-pandemic, weighted multiple linear regression smooth curve fitting were used relationship femoral BMD. Stratified analyses also conducted age, gender, BMI, ethnicity, diabetes hypertension status. And, saturation threshold effect was further analyzed using two-stage model. Result enrolled total 1,650 participants (48.7% males), with average age 63.0 ± 8.6 years. In fully adjusted model, each unit increase associated 0.026 (g/cm 2 ) 0.022 0.034 Subjects highest quartile had 0.035 0.039 fully-adjusted model compared those lowest quartile. addition, observed thresholds 1.073, 1.431 respectively. Conclusion strongly indicating its potential relevance metabolism. However, health, especially regarding osteoporosis risk, requires investigation large-scale prospective studies.
