Abstract Almost all physiological processes of animals are controlled by the brain, including language, cognitive, memory, learning, emotion and so forth. Minor brain dysfunction usually leads to diseases disorders. Therefore, it' is greatly meaningful urgent for scientists have a better understanding structure function. Optical approaches can provide powerful tools imaging modulating brain. In particular, optical in near‐infrared (NIR) window (700–1700 nm) exhibit excellent prosperities deep tissue penetration low scattering absorption compared with those visible windows (400–700 nm), which provides promising approach develop desired methods neuroimaging neuromodulation tissues. this review, variable types NIR light neural ions, membrane potential, neurotransmitters, other critical molecules functions summarized. latest breakthrough research regulation NIR‐II (1000–1700 highlighted. Finally, we conclude challenges prospects light‐based both basic further clinical translation.

Alzheimer’s disease, one of the most common forms dementia, is characterized by a slow progression cognitive impairment and neuronal loss. Currently, approved treatments for AD are hindered various side effects limited efficacy. Despite considerable research, practical have not been developed. Increasing evidence shows that glial cells, especially microglia astrocytes, essential in initiation AD. During progression, activated resident increases ability resting astrocytes to transform into reactive promoting neurodegeneration. Extensive clinical molecular studies show involvement astrocyte-mediated neuroinflammation pathology, indicating may be potential therapeutic targets This review will summarize significant recent advances pathogenesis three parts. First, we typical pathological changes discuss terms function phenotypic changes. Second, describe astrocytes’ physiological role These roles include inflammatory response, “eat me” “don’t eat signals, Aβ seeding, propagation, clearance, synapse loss, synaptic pruning, remyelination, demyelination. Last, pharmacological non-pharmacological therapies targeting We conclude development Therefore, understanding new critical future trials. Moreover, pharmacological, with specific investigating damage repair, promising research direction regarding treatment prevention.

Published: March 24, 2023

The main objective of this literature review was to analyze the efficacy (PBM) therapy application on subjects with chronic pain and inflammation, furthermore, evaluate methodological quality collected literature. search conducted using five databases: PubMed, ProQuest, Scopus, Web Science, PEDro. keywords "low level laser therapy", "chronic pain", "inflammation" provided selection RCTs that were published within last 5 years, in humans, written English. PEDro Internal Validity Scale (IVS) checklist used risk bias included studies. A total 11 articles selected, all them RCTs. Of articles, showed PBM positively influences pain, while another same but only short term. In two other patient's inflammation improved markedly. one article there no improvement another, inflammation. Four demonstrated is beneficial acute pain. Furthermore, six studies given an "excellent" score remaining a "good" based IVS. Photobiomodulation has effects although more research needs be completed line for clarified as existence subject limited.

Photobiomodulation (PBM), also known as Low-level Laser Therapy (LLLT), involves the use of light from a laser or light-emitting diode (LED) in treatment various disorders and it has recently gained increasing interest. Progressive neuronal loss with attendant consequences such cognitive and/or motor decline characterize neurodegenerative diseases. The available therapeutic drugs have only been able to provide symptomatic relief may present some side effects, thus precluding their treatment. Recently, there an exponential increase interest attention PBM therapy diseases animal studies. Because financial social burden on sufferers need for discovery potential inventions management, is pertinent examine beneficial effects cellular mechanisms by which modulates neural activity. Here, we highlight ways possess activity reported conditions (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s epilepsy, TBI, stroke) hope that serve alternative management because biological associated currently used
