Purpose: Vocational education and training is important to produce skilled innovative labor drive the country's development in 4th industrial revolution (IR 4.0). The employability of vocational college students crucial meet demand for 21st-century workers. This study aims identify influences characteristics, work readiness, self-concept on students. also examined moderating role gender. Methods: A quantitative correlational design was carried out achieve objectives study. samples consisted 395 from five colleges located states Kedah Penang, Malaysia. Data were collected through online questionnaire survey, which made up four instruments: Youth Innovation Skills Measurement Tool, Work Readiness Scale, Rational Scale Perceived Future Employability Scale. validity reliability these instruments well established. Descriptive structural equation modelling (SEM) analyses out. Findings: Innovative characteristics (β = 0.252, t 5.041, p < 0.001), 0.386, 7.131, 0.001) readiness 0.219, 3.787, had significant effects model explained 53% variance employability. Gender, however, did not moderate any three direct relationships. Conclusion: found that are factors should be taken into consideration when developing career programs, interventions, support services graduate employment issues faced by can overcome if identified this enhanced. This study-conducted via a survey involving college graduates (one year after graduation)-explores peer attachment influence mechanism on proactive behaviors and moderating effects of social intelligence.
