Experience of child psychological abuse in college students is likely to increase their risk depression, but the potential mechanisms between two require further exploration. Abstract Distrust in social interaction is linked to health issues during adolescence, ranging from loneliness aggression engagement. Previous research has attempted elucidate the decline trust perspective of perceived pressures, yet understanding how academic‐related pressures are related distrust among adolescents still limited. This 1‐year longitudinal study aims examine psychological mechanism underlying relationship between academic expectation stress (i.e., due external and internal expectations performance) development adolescent distrust. A total 1992 Chinese 7th 8th grades completed measures stress, distrust, internalizing problems anxiety, depression), hope a two‐wave (Time 1: December 2020; Time 2: 2021; 54.42% girls; M age at 2 = 14.02, SD .76). Abstract Background According to previous studies, unpredictability in childhood could significantly increase the risk of depression adulthood. Only a few studies have explored relationship between these two variables China. This paper aims explore and examine mediating roles coping styles resilience. Methods We investigated 601 college students, who had an average age 19.09 (SD = 2.78) years. Participants completed questionnaires regarding childhood, style, resilience, depression. analyzed survey data using bias-corrected bootstrap method. Results The findings revealed significant positive association among students. Mature immature resilience were found mediate this independently. Furthermore, study unveiled serial mediation process, wherein both mature styles, followed by sequentially depression, underscoring complex interplay variables. Conclusions results indicated that students experienced unpredictable should be valued. Attention paid decrease childhood.
