Abstract
Background:
With
the
rise
of
gig
economy,
platform
work
has
grown
significantly
throughout
world.
As
one
most
dynamic
workers
in
China,
food
delivery
riders
are
an
underrepresented
group
terms
securing
decent
work.
Building
on
Psychology
Working
Theory(PWT),
current
study
aimed
to
explore
how
contextual
and
individual
factorsinfluenced
career
development
China.
This
also
examined
their
attitudes
towards
aspirations.
Methods:
We
conducted
semi-structured
interviews
with
12
participants
aged
18-45
utilized
Consensual
Qualitative
Research
(CQR)
approach
conduct
data
analysis.
Results:
The
results
revealed
that
economic
constraints,
inadequate
education,
limited
social
capital
were
main
vocational
barriers
for
these
riders.
Their
coping
resources
included
support,
critical
consciousness,
proactive
personality,
self-leadership.
Although
allowed
them
earn
a
living,
it
featured
long
working
hours,
poor
conditions,
benefits,
etc.
such,
they
experienced
job
dissatisfaction,
occupational
fatigue,
turnover
intentions.
Regarding
future
goals,
our
mentioned
finding
more
job,
learning
new
skills,
starting
business.
Conclusion:
Overall,
