Earthquakes may play a role in the development of several psychological distresses or psychopathologies. Nevertheless, protective factors such as positive emotions, flexibility, and coping mechanisms be helpful for earthquake survivors coping. On other hand, both negative emotions flexibility remains elusive. Accordingly, this study aimed to examine relationship between coping, levels considering together. A total 330 adult participants cross-sectional completed Participant Information Form, Perceived Ability Cope with Trauma (PACT), Psychological Flexibility (PF), Positive-Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) scales. Participants were aged 20 68 years (Mean ± SD = 42.42 + 12.88). It was determined that PACT increased, PF emotion increased yet decreased. As decreased (p < 0.01). According established model, it concluded related positive-negative values, being moment, dissociation sub-dimensions unrelated contextual self acceptance > 0.05). In conclusion, found have mediating survivors. Mental health professionals contribute increasing through interventions at maintaining recognizing PF.

Kırılgan grupta yer alan koruyucu aileler afetten etkilenen önemli kesimlerden biridir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, annelerin travma sonrası çocuklarıyla ilişkilerinde karşılaştıkları zorlukları, stresle başa çıkma becerilerini ve psikolojik ihtiyaçlarını anlamaktır. Fenomenolojik desende yürütülen çalışmada, ölçüt örnekleme yöntemiyle on katılımcıya ulaşılmıştır. Abstract Background The 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes resulted in extensive destruction, significant loss of life, and widespread displacement, with Hatay province being the most severely affected region. Earthquake survivors residing temporary shelters face an elevated risk long-term psychological consequences, particularly post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) depression. This study aims to assess prevalence PTSD depression among earthquake shelter areas within central districts identify associated factors contributing PTSD. Methods cross-sectional, population-based was conducted 400 adult following earthquakes. Participants were selected using a multistage cluster sampling method. Data on participants’ sociodemographic characteristics, experiences, psychiatric history collected through self-report questionnaires. assessed Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5), while evaluated Beck Depression Inventory. Results identified 29.0% participants, observed 38.8%. Key included unemployment (OR = 2.590, p 0.004), family member 2.351, 0.017), pre-existing diagnosis prior 2.245, 0.007), alcohol use 2.310, 0.019), smoking 1.663, 0.044), experiencing high level fear during 2.151, 0.002). Conclusions These findings highlight critical need large-scale psychosocial support intervention programs post-disaster period.
