Abstract Earthquake location estimation using grid search (GS) method are compared with manta ray foraging optimization (MRFO) solutions for synthetic and real earthquake data from Van city, Türkiye. Both locating methods worked very well achieved similar results. While the coordinates (latitude longitude) of were obtained successfully both methods, inversion arrival times calculated noisy noise-free data, result was some deviation in depth parameter data. The parameters GS MRFO accordance made by other seismology centres. It not observed that full match centres, but centres given comparison also consistent among themselves. according performed this study is self-consistent around 24 km. As a result, has disadvantageous method, reasons such as reaching solution tardy needs applying gradual steps to accelerate it. easy, fast, advantageous when kinematic hypocentre.

The Incomplete Beta Function (IBF) a popular transformation function Image Contrast Enhancement (ICE). Nevertheless, IBF has modest efficiency parameter selection, small set adjustable parameters stretching regions with high or low gray levels, enhancement almost ineffective at either end. Meta-heuristic algorithms been utilized efficiently effectively over past few decades solve complicated problems. paper presents an Augmented version Elk Herd Optimizer (AEHO) combined other traditional ICE techniques improve edge details, entropy, local contrast, low-contrast natural satellite AEHO method employs multi-stage strategic procedure, where its mathematical model undergoes several enhancements being applied allow further exploration exploitation features. uses pre-established fitness criterion purpose optimizing rework well-known effective assessment technique objective standard this purpose.
