Ferulic acid is a widespread phenolic compound that occurs in seeds and leaves, both its free form conjugated to polysaccharides, carbohydrates, glycoproteins lignins the plant cell walls. It exhibits various biological activities, like antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, hepatoprotective, antimicrobial, antiviral activity, it modulates enzyme activity. Given these wide potential health benefits, ferulic has attracted considerable research interest may be considered biomolecule with strong prospects as functional food ingredient. Great attempts have been made enhance extraction process recovery from natural matrices agro-industrial wastes for applications relating human nutrition. This review presents recently available information on methods quantifying different samples, along bioavailability stability processing foods activities.

Medicinal plants are sources of crude traditional herbal medicines that utilized to reduce the risk of, treat, or manage diseases in most indigenous communities. This is due their potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. It estimated about 80% population developing countries rely on for healthcare. signifies need medicines, which polyherbal formulations prepared by health practitioners. review examines preparatory steps extract bioactive phytoconstituents post-extraction processes increase potency extracted phytoconstituents. Achieving this will allow reduced use plant materials promote sustainable limited resource medicinal plants, especially our South African context. Electronic ethnobotanical books online databases were used find studies focus phytoconstituent extraction processing enhance Modification synthesize daughter compounds facilitates an enhancement bioavailability. As a herb used in traditional medicine, Agrimonia eupatoria L. contains number of secondary metabolites with beneficial properties. However, various factors such as species, ontogenesis, part plant and its processing can influence the overall bioactivity. Here, we assess effect variability on phytochemical composition bioactive potential agrimony. A complex set agrimony samples was extracted, analyzed by UHPLC-HRMS/MS screened for selected compounds (n=195). The detected profiles, especially presence particular polyphenolic compounds, depended mainly while other factors, ontogenesis or had only minor influence.Simultaneously, antimicrobial activity all extracts tested against gram-positive gram-negative bacteria, anaerobic bacteria yeasts. tests revealed great differences highest efficiency bacteria.
