Background: The intestinal microbiota composition varies between healthy and diseased individuals for numerous diseases.Although any cause or effect relationship the alterations in gut disease is not always clear, targeting might offer new possibilities prevention and/or treatment of disease. Objective: Here we review some examples manipulating by prebiotics, probiotics, fecal microbial transplants. Results: Prebiotics are best known their ability to increase number bifidobacteria. However, specific prebiotics could potentially also stimulate other species they can associated with health, like Akkermansia muciniphila, Ruminococcus bromii, Roseburia/Enterococcus rectale group, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii.Probiotics have beneficial health effects different diseases digestive symptoms. These be due direct probiotic bacterium its products itself, as well on resident microbiota.Probiotics influence activity microbiota.Fecal transplants a drastic intervention microbiota, aiming total replacement one another. With successful studies related antibiotic-associated diarrhea Clostridium difficile infection, potential treat inflammatory bowel disease, irritable syndrome, metabolic cardiovascular disorders under investigation. Conclusions: Improved knowledge role will help more targeted manipulation microbiota.Further necessary see (long term) these interventions.

Abstract Crustaceans form the second largest subphylum on Earth, which includes Litopeneaus vannamei (Pacific whiteleg shrimp), one of most cultured shrimp worldwide. Despite efforts to study microbiota, little is known about it from obtained open sea and role that aquaculture plays in microbiota remodeling. Here, hepatopancreas intestine wild type (wt) aquacultured pond sediment hatcheries were characterized using sequencing seven hypervariable regions 16S rRNA gene. Cultured with AHPND/EMS disease symptoms also included. We found (i) their predicted metagenomic functions different between wt shrimp; (ii) independent source, was different; (iii) microbial diversity intestines similar; (iv) associated an early development disease, we changes microbiome appearance disease-specific bacteria. Notably, under conditions, identified bacterial taxa enriched healthy shrimp, such as Faecalibacterium prausnitzii Pantoea agglomerans , communities diseased Aeromonas taiwanensis Simiduia agarivorans Photobacterium angustum .
