The increasing use of fiber-reinforced plastic has triggered an urgent demand for its recycling once it reaches end-of-life. Currently, landfilling and incineration are major disposal methods plastic, which lead to undesirable waste resources environmental contamination. To address this issue, we disclose a solvent-free energy-efficient flash upcycling method convert the mixture glass carbon into SiC powders within seconds in yields >90%. By modulating input pulse voltages times, with two different phases, 3C-SiC 6H-SiC, can be selectively synthesized, each phase purity 90-99%. Theoretical simulations reveal that content Si vacancy during process dominates transformation from 6H-SiC. further used as anode material lithium-ion batteries, phase-dependent performance. exhibits superior reversible capacity (741 mAh·g-1 at 0.2 C) rate performance over 6H-SiC (626 C), while both show excellent cycling stability (~95% retention after 200 cycles). Life cycle assessment reveals greatly reduces energy demand, greenhouse gas emission water consumption other processes.
