ABSTRACT This study investigates the sustainability of potential small hydropower sites within Citarum Watershed in West Java, Indonesia. The River, with a catchment area 6,090 km2, plays crucial role regional water supply and hydroelectric power generation. However, environmental challenges such as deforestation, land use changes, sedimentation pose significant risks. We employed CA-Markov model integrated IDRISI TerrSet software Soil Water Assessment Tool to predict future changes assess supply, soil erosion, impacts for 2030 2040. analysis revealed diverse trends yield across different areas, some regions showing increased availability others facing declines. High erosion rates were identified critical issues affecting efficiency. highlights need comprehensive watershed management strategies, including reforestation, sustainable practices, sediment management, enhance projects. Our findings underscore importance integrating considerations into development ensure ecological integrity Watershed.
