Agroecosystems provide habitats, food, and water for many pollinators insects, but they are also heavily exposed to threats from the widespread use of pesticides fertilizers. Managed honeybees wild bees encounter in vineyards by collecting morning dew vine leaves accessing sugars grapes, particularly during dry periods. This study assessed toxicological effects commercial fungicide formulations Fantic FNCWG® Ramedit combi®, both individually combination, on honeybees. Using a multi-biomarker approach, we evaluated neurotoxicity, metabolic disturbances, phase II detoxification processes, immune system function. Our findings revealed that mixtures with multiple active ingredients affect differently than single compounds. Biomarker responses highlighted how these complex disrupt various enzymatic pathways; including function; altering critical enzyme kinetics involved potentially impairing essential bee functions. emphasizes need more comprehensive research into sublethal pesticides, those used vineyards, which understudied compared orchards.

The honeybee comb serves as the primary site for all essential colony activities, and its structural functional integrity plays a crucial role in development. As combs age through successive brood-rearing cycles, their physicochemical properties undergo significant changes, which can negatively affect health productivity. This review synthesizes current knowledge on biological functions of combs, aging process, negative impacts old cell structure, worker morphology, strength, bee product quality. Additionally, it examines adaptive strategies employed by honeybees recommended beekeeping management practices to mitigate these effects. Specifically, changes dimensions reduced spatial capacity, leading growth smaller bees with diminished foraging Furthermore, products, such honey beeswax, collected from demonstrate compromised quality higher levels environmental contaminants. To counteract challenges, colonies engage hygienic behaviors, cleaning rebuilding, while enhanced immune detoxification systems help comb-derived stressors. demonstrates that systematic replacement brood is critical strategy optimize ensure sustainable apiculture.

Recently, there has been a widespread decline in honeybee (Apis mellifera) colonies globally, disrupting ecological balance and reducing the pollination capacity of many entomophilous plants. One primary causes bee family deaths is increasing use pesticides, particularly insecticides, agricultural practice. This study aimed to identify mortality various regions Ukraine during 2021–2022 determine breakdown potential different pesticide groups honey. Pesticide residues biological samples were analyzed using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) gas (GC-MS/MS). In bodies dead bees, pesticides from chemical groups, as well their mixtures, detected. most cases, cause poisoning was mixtures pyrethroids neonicotinoids: thiamethoxam, clothianidin, lambda-cyhalothrin; imidacloprid, lambda-cyhalothrin, thiamethoxam; clothianidin lambda-cyhalothrin. The found honey neonicotinoids (58.8%), triazoles (29.6%), strobilurins (6.5%), benzimidazoles (5.1%). Most levels did not exceed maximum allowable detected included thiacloprid, acetamiprid, thiamethoxam. tebuconazole, cyproconazole, flutriafol, epoxiconazole; picoxystrobin, pyraclostrobin, azoxystrobin; carbendazim thiophanate-methyl. Residues neonicotinoids, triazoles, benzimidazoles, undergo degradation over 12 months storage at 4 °C. Storing 20 °C after increased thiacloprid by 21.2%, acetamiprid 20.7%, flutriafol 36.3%. Between 9th 12th °C, picoxystrobin concentration decreased 24.5–38.0%, 80.0% complete thiophanate-methyl reached 28.0% 6th month, 46.0% 55.4% month. persistence poses significant risk toxic effects on families human health.

Abstract Honey bee ( Apis mellifera ) breeding has intensified as populations experience increasing stress and pollination demand increases. Breeding programmes risk genetic diversity losses mating is focused on a small group of individuals. Loss at the complementary sex determiner csd locus results in decreased viability reduced honey production. Bees that are homozygous become inviable males rather than workers. We examined four Australian populations: queen breeder from New South Wales, another Queensland, Western programme involving 11 breeders, research population NSW Department Primary Industries. found 82 unique alleles across populations, 16 which have not been previously reported. This study provides snapshot Australia will be useful for national improvement (Plan Bee).

ABSTRACT Honeybees (Apis mellifera) are a keystone species for managed pollination and the production of hive products. Eusociality in honeybees leads to much reproduction driven by queen. Queen bees have two large active ovaries that can produce numbers eggs if conditions appropriate. These also throughout long lives these insects, up 5 years some cases. Recent studies indicated germline precursors adult honeybee queen ovary organized into 8-cell clusters, joined together polyfusome; cytoplasmic bridge.
