Abstract Purpose of Review Allergic diseases have become a burden in industrialized societies. Among children, food allergy (FA) constitutes major impairment quality life. FA is partly due to lack or loss tolerance antigens at the level intestinal mucosa, where microbiota plays crucial role. Early changes composition gut may influence development immune system and can be related risk allergic diseases, including FA. This review will focus on role sphingolipids bacteria involved their metabolism, antigen sensitization Recent Findings Numerous studies identified different patterns microbial between individuals with without FA, pointing an interaction microbiota, enterocytes, cells. When this lost imbalance occurs, integrity epithelial barrier altered, leading permeability Gram-negative bacteria, especially those Proteobacteria phylum, been associated Investigating interactions system, function, production metabolites signaling molecules contribute understanding pathogenesis Summary Sphingolipids, class bioactive amphipathic lipids found cell membranes, emerged as critical regulators inflammation. In review, we attempt summarize existing knowledge these metabolism mechanisms underlying

Food allergy (FA) is an aberrant immune response triggered by the ingestion of a food antigen. Ovalbumin (OVA)-sensitized and challenged BALB/c mice were orally administered heat-killed (HK)-L. paracasei JY56. In this work, HK-L. paracasei JY56 alleviated FA-induced decrease in body weight rectal temperature reduced score. Serum analysis showed that levels specific antibodies (OVA-sIgE OVA-sIgG) allergic mediators (histamine mast cell protease) FA mice. addition, JY56 also could alleviate OVA-induced suppressing Th2 Th17-type responses, which was evidenced regulation splenic lymphocyte subpopulations associated cytokine secretion. Moreover, jejunal histological intestinal barrier function related gene expression measurement performed to verify repair Meanwhile, TLR4/NF-κB inflammatory pathway activation inhibited at protein levels. Finally, modulate gut microbiota structure increase short-chain fatty acids. conclusion, multiple ways, study provides theoretical basis for application inactivated probiotics functional foods FA.
