This work leverages the additive antipathogenic effects of natural extracts/essential oils (EOs) and probiotics for treatment acne vulgaris associated with Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) eczema complicated by secondary infections Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). Six probiotic strains various extracts/EOs were evaluated in a large screening to evaluate their potential against both pathogens. Lacticaseibacillus paracasei PCB003 was able inhibit growth For extracts/EOs, Oregano EO had best on pathogens did not show any adverse impact probiotics, making it suitable simultaneous use. Using Lactiplantibacillus plantarum PCB011 as model, five material formulations assessed suitability protect cells within freeze-dried topical patches. Alginate trehalose (ALG+TRE) thermoplastic starch (TPS) highest survivability, ALG+TRE chosen final patch more robust. individually incorporated into matrix form 6 mm patch; (PCB003) (PCB011) patches, when used individually, successfully inhibited C. 4.7 6.0 mm, respectively, surpassing performance commercially available The effect 30% further improved pathogen inhibition. S. aureus, incorporation increased size inhibition zone than 10-fold. acnes, demonstrated an 16.3 achieved 14.3 zone. Genomic analysis confirmed that lack antimicrobial resistance determinants, ensuring safety. study combined agents create effective dermatological
