Abstract
Objectives
The
study
aimed
to
examine
the
impact
of
incorporating
Buddhist
ethics-based
practices
versus
ethics-
and
wisdom-based
in
an
8-week
mindfulness-based
intervention
(MBI)
on
prosocial
behaviour.
Method
Changes
behaviour
were
evaluated
through
subcategories
monetary
donation,
attitudes,
volunteering
engagement.
Participants
at
a
British
university
China
(
n
=67)
randomly
assigned
either
MBI
including
concentration-
practice
(MBI-CE)
or
concentration-,
ethics-,
(MBI-CEW),
with
study-as-usual
control
group.
Throughout
intervention,
participants
attended
weekly
2-hr
face-to-face
sessions
maintained
daily
meditation
journals.
Results
showed
that
MBI-CEW
exhibited
significant
increases
compared
MBI-CE
controls.
No
difference
was
observed
dispositional
mindfulness
ethical
responsibility
between
groups.
However,
group
experienced
greater
changes
levels
