The endoparasitic fungus Hirsutella rhossiliensis is an important biocontrol agent of cyst nematodes in nature. To determine the potential parasitism on a non-natural host, pinewood nematode (Bursaphelenchus xylophilus) living pine trees and endophytic ability plants, this paper, we first constructed utilized green fluorescent protein (GFP)-tagged H. HR02 transformant to observe fungal infection process B. xylophilus its colonization Arabidopsis roots. Then, compared three species with different lifestyles, found that correlated stages. parasitic effect adults similar second-stage juveniles (J2) root-knot Meloidogyne incognita after 24 h inoculation, although virulence M. stronger than those Caenorhabditis elegans. Moreover, endophytism was confirmed. By applying appropriate concentration conidial suspension (5 × 106 spores/mL) rhizosphere soil, it can promote A. thaliana growth reproduction, as well improve host resistance against incognita. Our results provide deeper understanding promising plant-parasitic nematodes.

Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb. et Zucc is an important industrial crop because it contains a large amount of medicinal secondary metabolites (such as polydatin, resveratrol, chrysophanol, and emodin). However, unclear whether root endophytic fungi increase the content in plant. This study aimed to analyze effects Funneliformis mosseae (Fm) Piriformospora indica (Pi) alone or combination on plant growth, morphology, thirteen sugars concentrations, six (physcion, emodin, aloe-emodin, resveratrol) concentrations P. cuspidatum. After 11 weeks fungal inoculation, roots could be colonized by Fm Pi single combination, along with higher colonization frequency > + descending order. In addition, improved growth performance (plant height, stem diameter, leaf number, shoot biomass) morphology (average maximum total length, area, volume) varying degrees, depending inoculations, which displayed relatively better effect growth. Single inoculation significantly increased three disaccharides (sucrose, maltose, trehalose) accumulation, while dual inoculum (Fm Pi) only elevated sucrose concentrations. Most monosaccharides such D-arabinose, D-galactose, D-sorbitol, D-fructose, glucose, L-rhamnose were not altered inhibited fungi, except L-fucose inositol. All treatments chrysophanol resveratrol decreased aloe-emodin emodin physcion polydatin It was concluded that promoted cuspidatum, more conducive production some than inoculation.

Citrus plants are prone to phosphorus (P) deficiency, especially in acidic soil, making them more dependent on root-associated endophytic fungi for growth and development. Beni-Madonna, a hybrid of nanko × C. amakusa, is citrus known as “tangor” that highly popular China other parts the world due its deep red color jelly-like flesh. In this study, inoculation response two arbuscular mycorrhizal (Diversispora versiformis, Dv; Funneliformis mosseae, Fm) an fungus (Serendipita indica, Si) with regard growth, leaf gas exchange, light energy efficiency, P levels, acid phosphatase activity, expression purple (PAP) phosphate transporter (PT) genes through potted experiment using Beni-Madonna (tangor) grafted trifoliate orange (Poncirus trifoliata) was studied. Two years following inoculation, root fungal colonization rates inoculated were significantly increased, accompanied by increase plant height stem diameter, Si presenting best effect. Fungal inoculations also increased chlorophyll index, nitrogen-balance photosynthesis rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration photosynthetic quantum yield PSII, while it reduced photoinhibition heat dissipation, having effect efficiency. well CsPAP1‒3, CsPT2, CsPT3, CsPT7 soil activity; Fm CsPT1 root/soil activity. These observations suggested advantage over AMF terms improved acquisition, displayed prominent effects
