Background Innula cappa (Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don) DC (Compositae) is used in folkloric medicine to treat diabetes and other ailments. The current study aimed assess the anti-hyperglycemic antioxidant effects of methanolic extract solvent fractions I. leaves as well bioassay guided isolation active compounds from extract. Method α-amylase α-glucosidase inhibition extracts was evaluated by colorimetric assays, anti-diabetic activity tested on alloxan-induced diabetic mice model. Moreover, flame emission atomic absorption spectrometry techniques were employed analyze chemical composition plant. Compounds identified isolated leaf latex using FTIR, GCMS, silica gel column chromatography, their structures determined 1 H-NMR, 13 C-NMR, ESI-MS spectral data. Results results showed that ME significant α-amylase, inhibitory hyperglycemic activities, significantly improving body weight, glucose tolerance, lipid profiles, hematological markers. UV-FTIR spectra revealed diagnostic peaks corresponding several functional groups whereas GC-MS analysis 35 phytochemical components with different retention times cappa. Spectroscopic led 5 including ursolic acid, benzoic 2-hydroxybenzoic stigmasterol β -sitosterol. Conclusion exert antihyperglycemic demonstrating medicinal value emphasize its significance unexplored natural reservoirs phytogenic chemicals require further investigation cutting-edge analytical techniques.
