The diversity and resource potential of macroscopic fungi in tropical regions remain understudied. Vietnam, being a biodiversity hotspot, has large number new fungal species that are interest for biotechnology medicine. presence protected areas Vietnam creates favorable opportunities the study ex situ conservation biodiversity. From 2012 to 2023, 785 strains macrofungi from National Parks were preserved LE-BIN collection, 327 which barcoded with sequences deposited NCBI GenBank. A taxonomic analysis demonstrated many isolates potentially or poorly studied species, representing useful taxonomical studies search medicinal mushrooms. More than 180 first time growth rate enzymatic activities. Of these, 53 showed high rate, 43-high cellulolytic activity, 73-high oxidative enzymes 27 proteolytic making them promising candidates biotechnological medical applications opening sustainable biomass management, discovery bioactive substances, development drugs efficient plant waste treatment technologies. results confirm importance as valuable source scientific commercial suggest certain active study.

Abstract Many species of mushroom-forming fungi have been harvested in the wild and used for food medicine thousands years. In Brazil, knowledge diversity edible mushrooms remains scattered poorly studied. Based on new samples, bibliographic records revision, searches through GenBank, we recorded 409 which 350 can be safely consumed 59 are but with conditions. Additionally, other 150 represent taxa unclear evidence consumption or unconfirmed edibility status. A total 86 represents consistent Brazil based molecular data and/or Brazilian nomenclatural types. Other 323 names that need further taxonomic investigations to confirm their identity occurrence country, 41 them having some record by part population. The remaining 282 resources country. We generated 143 DNA sequences, representing 40 within 29 genera. Edible an important non-wood forest product about adds value local biodiversity population, increasing incentive conservation allied sustainable rural development.
