Sex and gender are fundamental health determinants their role as modifiers of treatment response is increasingly recognized. Norepinephrine a cornerstone septic shock management its use based on the highest level evidence compared to dopamine. The related 2021 Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SCC) recommendation presumably applicable both females males; however, sex- gender-based analysis lacking, thus not allowing generalizable conclusions. This paper was aimed at exploring whether gender-disaggregated data available in supporting this recommendation. For all studies underpinning it, four pairs authors, including woman man, extracted concerning sex gender, according Gender Equity Research guidelines. Nine manuscripts were included with an overall population 2126 patients, which 43.2% females. No performed never reported. In conclusion, present manuscript highlighted that clinical underlying SCC NE administration have neglected likely response, missing opportunity gender-specific

Background Researchers have increasingly recognized the importance of structural and social determinants health (SSDOH) as key drivers a multitude diseases outcomes. The Multi-Ethnic Study Atherosclerosis (MESA) is an ongoing, longitudinal cohort study subclinical cardiovascular disease (CVD) that has followed geographically racially/ethnically diverse participants starting in 2000. Since its inception, MESA incorporated numerous SSDOH assessments instruments to relation CVD aging In this paper, we describe data available MESA, systematically review published papers using were focused on provide roadmap for future SSDOH-related studies. Methods findings team reviewed all (n = 2,125) through January 23, 2023.
