Abstract Seismic engineering typically uses 2D modelling techniques in seismic analysis due to their computational efficiency and simplicity. Compared with 3D models high accuracy, might underestimate or overstate responses. Therefore, this research compared the structural capacities dynamic performance of a set equivalent models. The objective was examine extent which accurately represent study investigated two RC frames shear walls (5 10 stories) sets Initially, traditional selected extracted from were assessed Thereafter, designed slab strip analysed All studied using (1) modal analysis, (2) pushover (3) incremental eight far-field records. Furthermore, analytical fragility curves derived for all Results showed that frame properly represented terms plastic hinge formations, led similar failure mechanism. Moreover, it exhibited greater compatibility model regarding shape values capacity curves.
