This research aimed to examine the influence of green inhibitor extracted from Parthenium hysterophorus (PHS) on corrosion behaviour AZ31 Mg alloy in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. The assessments were done through immersion and polarisation tests with different concentration PHS extract. test findings showed that presence extract 250 ppm enhanced inhibition efficiency 82%. At 303 K, rate bare solution is 0.41 mpy, increasing 0.98 mpy at 353 K. With addition PHS, drops by 82% K 61% demonstrating effectiveness reducing corrosion, even elevated temperatures. Arrhenius plot confirmed increase activation energy 15.26 28.37 KJ/mol an concentration. entropy adsorption calculated as 56.20 J/mol Langmuir plot.

This paper investigates the corrosion behavior of mild steel in simulated oilfield wastewater under CO2, H2S, and their mixture. Using electrical resistance method, rates were monitored, influence product films on overall performance was analyzed. The results show that CO2/H2S mixture causes highest rate. Metallographic examination X-ray diffraction (XRD) provided insights into nature products formed surface. While hydrogen sulfide (H2S) does not prevent general corrosion, it plays a role mitigating localized damage. Corrosion leads to deep, narrow pits weaken structural integrity without significant surface damage, making more dangerous than uniform corrosion. In CO2-only environments, electrochemical reactions form protective oxide layers. However, H2S alters this process by forming iron sulfides (FeS), which are less but still act as barrier against further mixed interactions between gases complicate dynamics, increasing medium aggressiveness accelerating material degradation. Understanding these mechanisms is critical for petroleum industry, where equipment exposed harsh conditions with varying CO2 concentrations. Recognizing dual H2S—its inability inhibit its effectiveness reducing pitting—can guide selection inhibitor development. knowledge enhances durability safety oil gas infrastructure addressing most damaging forms

Abstract Corrosion can bring serious safety issues, environmental and economic losses. The use of corrosion inhibitors is an important technology for controlling metal corrosion. Compared to small molecule inhibitors, polymer have better film-forming ability, multifunctionality, viscosity, high temperature resistance, solubility flexibility, more attachment sites, making them one the hotspots future development inhibitors. Here, we review research progress natural polymers, polymeric surfactant, ionic liquids, β-cyolodextrin-based polymers nanocomposite as These types do not require a molecular weight achieve their desired functions exhibit excellent inhibition performance. However, from current application situation, still some drawbacks. For example, although modified pollute environment, extraction separation operations are cumbersome, it difficult accurately analyze active components inhibitors; Chemically synthesized pose threat environment conducive ecological protection. scientific discuss solutions make practical industrial major points following: 1) Whether substances with good performance be grafted onto has become key point in preparing efficient soluble 2) Research optimization synthesis processes or modification methods perspectives material sources, solubility, dosage, composition; 3) Develop inexpensive, efficient, environmentally friendly promote applications. We aim propose broad prospects potential industry.
