Bacterial infections are a prevalent complication after primary viral respiratory and associated with high morbidity mortality. Antibiotics widely used against bacterial pathogens; however, the rise in antibiotic-resistant strains urges us to search for new antimicrobial compounds, including ones that act synergistically antibiotics. In this study, minimal inhibitory (MIC) bactericidal (MBC) concentrations of polyphenol-rich complex green propolis, Tabebuia avellanedae bark, Olea europaea leaf extracts Staphylococcus aureus, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae were determined, followed by an analysis synergistic effect clarithromycin, azithromycin, amoxiclav (875/125 mg amoxicillin/clavulanic acid). A combination showed activity all three strains, MIC values ranging from 0.78 12.5 mg/mL MBC 1.56 mg/mL. The azithromycin clarithromycin S. K. pneumoniae, tested antibiotics H. influenzae. Synergy was additionally evaluated time-kill assay where effects aureus seen within first 6 h incubation. results show potential enhancing efficacy antibiotic therapy indicate their be management infections.

Abstract Background Propolis types differ regarding their chemical composition. Objectives To compare patch test results based on Brazilian (Green) propolis with data Chinese (poplar‐type) propolis, and to evaluate the specifications of raw materials used for PT preparations. Methods In Information Network Departments Dermatology (IVDK), 1290 consecutive patients were tested (NH400, SmartPractice Europe). Patch reactivity was compared obtained (NA71, Europe) by calculating frequencies corresponding 95% confidence intervals. Data NH400 NA71 from manufacturer. Results Positive reactions found in 303 (23.5%) unclear clinical relevance most cases. Patients reacting less often sensitised fragrances colophony, but more nickel sulphate cobalt chloride than NA71. The batch contained high levels aerobic bacteria, not purified ethanolic extraction. Conclusions Pattern concomitant along material properties suggests that frequency positive may primarily result bacterial contamination or impurities preparation rather constituents.
