ABSTRACT The regency of Bogor has become the with highest population in Indonesia. regency's 5.4 million been driving increased pollutant buildup areas like those around Lower Cileungsi watershed, impacting quality river. This study aims to provide input on pollution control strategies River based load capacity pollutants from point and non-point sources. modeled total potential organic loads existing critical water flows. Organic reductions were also simulated meet river standard stipulated by Indonesian Government Regulation No. 22 2021 for Monitoring data showed that biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) dissolved (DO) concentrations did not standard, placing status as slightly polluted an average index value 2.57. BOD all sectors was 32,851.65 kg/day, exceeding river's 21,785.6 kg/day. modeling suggested 87% industries, 90% lake outlets, 60% domestic, 20% agriculture. No reduction is required livestock sector.

Water diversion is a common strategy to enhance water quality in eutrophic lakes by increasing available resources and accelerating nutrient circulation. Its effectiveness depends on changes the source lake conditions. However, challenge of optimizing remains because it difficult simultaneously improve minimize amount diverted water. Here, we propose new approach called dynamic optimization (DWDO), which combines comprehensive model with deep reinforcement learning algorithm. We applied DWDO region Lake Dianchi, largest freshwater China validated it. Our results demonstrate that significantly reduced total nitrogen phosphorus concentrations 7% 6%, respectively, compared previous operations. Additionally, annual decreased an impressive 75%. Through interpretable machine learning, identified impact meteorological indicators both optimal diversion. found single input variable could either increase or decrease diversion, depending its specific value, while multiple factors collectively influenced real-time adjustment Moreover, using well-designed hyperparameters, proved robust under different uncertainties parameters. The training time theoretically shorter than traditional simulation-optimization algorithms, highlighting potential support more effective decision-making management.

One of the challenging problems Punjab, most populous province Pakistan, is surface water-quality problem Ravi River, which flows through main cities province. At present, overall status water quality very polluted, primarily due to residential and industrial wastewater directly discharged into River a network drains. Due poor water, river ecosystem not favorable for aquatic surrounding environment. Hence, management options are proposed reduce pollution. Therefore, study was formulated identify sources pollution along their potential impact on course channel. In addition, applied numerical model WASP 8.1 (Water Quality Simulation Program) discover best strategy improvement quality. Through simulation it found that, if flow at headwater link canals increased up 50%, with 75% in concentration drains wastewater-treatment facilities, can be improved an acceptable limit standards.

Fuzzy theory is a powerful tool with the capability of solving many complex problems which include river water quality assessment when dealing uncertainties data and vagueness that occur in system. In this paper, various fuzzy techniques are applied development management; particularly, index outlined. Uncertainties involved management, especially from random nature hydrologic variables missing data, can be overcome using techniques. interference system (FIS) plays an important role excursion. FIS improved other methods such as similarity measures grey clustering method to obtain better accurate results. also integrated expert decision support assist decision-maker improving through effective strategies. Thus, incorporated clustering, artificial neural network, provide comprehensive solution order control pollution demonstrated.
