Abstract The study aims, through soil-structure interaction analyses, to examine its influence on a shallow foundations design of building in reinforced concrete bedrock terrain. For the foundation elements were calculated considering rigid and flexible supports—the latter represented such by spring coefficients “K”, obtained ratio between loads each pillar settlements suffered them via monitoring field. Comparisons projects consisted changes element geometry material consumption 14 isolated 2 associated footings. greatest footing observed length SB03 (reduction 15 cm) width SB06 10 SB08 (increase cm), while, when area as whole, presented reduction (7.48 m 6.93 ). Concrete volume was most influenced redistribution, implying around 18% for SB06, but maintained total required execute project all elements, due compensation relieved increased load Factors components, terrain deformability, asymmetry plans, more less loaded locations and, consequently, foundations' design. Emphasizes importance studies, which contribute executing with greater safety better performance, meeting real field conditions.
